San Ángel “El Cardenal” opened in 2011, in a beautiful house in the
avenue baptized by Porfirio Díaz as Avenida de la Paz. Avenue which we residents of the city knew as the Tasca Manolo Restaurant.

After being closed for several years the house has been subject to a
meticulous restoration that allowed it to recover its architectonic splendor
and original materials. To keep it safe, its use exclusively as
dining room and locating outside the facilities required for the
restaurant operation. In this functional approach, it is notable that
location of the kitchen facilities in a kind of glass box at the back
of the house, which can be observed by diners from different
angles, with which the open kitchen concept is fully expressed.
